HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER
Are you a believer in Jesus Christ? Welcome! Join us! Faith in Christ as Savior is our common bond, the foundation of our fellowship, and it’s the sole prerequisite for membership. Before joining, if you’d like to know more about First Baptist Dallas, about the basics of the Christian faith or even about how your personality and interests may fit into our community, we offer several helpful classes.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Around here, Sunday School is a big deal, a favorite part of church life for all ages. Priceless friendships are built as we study God’s word together and apply it to life’s issues. There are classes for kids, for teens, for younger and older adults, for couples, for singles; classes for particular interests such as international missions and for specialized groups such as medical and dental professionals; even classes in different languages. They all meet Sunday at 9:30 or 10:50 a.m. Need a little help deciding? Just stop by any of our Guest Info Centers on Sunday morning.
BEEN BAPTIZED?
If you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you’re ready to be baptized; it’s that simple. We believe that baptism is an important step of obedience for every Christian, as instructed by Jesus Himself. Salvation occurs when a person accepts the death and resurrection of Jesus as the full payment for his or her sins. Being baptized is a way of showing others that you have entered a relationship with Christ. It’s an outward symbol of what happened in your heart when you accepted Him: You shared in his death and resurrection (symbolized by going under the water and coming up), and your sins were washed away. Baptism is a celebration! It would be our joy to share it with you.
